Soe Win was arrested in June 1974 for his role in the student lead demonstrations against the regime during the funeral of U Thant, former secretary General of the UN. He was sentenced to 7 years and served more than 4 years in Insein prison. He now lives in the USA.<br /> Khin Win, a member of the NLD was arrested in 2003 accused of unlawful association with outlawed organisations in exile, receiving financial aid and being in possession of political pamphlets. He is currently serving a 23-year sentence in Insein prison.
