Kyaw Tint Oo, a former student activist was jailed for 2 years in Maubin prison for his involvement in the mass uprising in 1988. He fled Burma and currently lives in Nupo refugee camp on the Thai-Burma border where he is awaiting resettlement to a third country.
Thiha Aung, a student from the Irrawaddy Delta region, was arrested in September 2007 for his involvement in the Saffron Revolution protests. He was sentenced to 10 years and is currently detained in Loikaw prison.
