Phone Aung, former political prisoner from Burma
Phone Aung, a former member of the NLD, was arrested in September 2003 when he staged a solo protest outside Rangoon City Hall demanding the release of Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners. He was sentenced to 7 years and served 4 years in Insein prison. He fled Burma and currently lives in Nupo refugee camp on the Thai-Burma border where he is awaiting resettlement to a third country.
Ko Kyaw Kyaw, a member of the NLD, was arrested in June 2003 and charged with contacting illegal associations in exile. He was sentenced to 28 years and is still detained in Insein prison.
