Myo Thant, a former student leader in the mass uprising of 1988 and member of the 88 Generation Students, was first arrested in 1989 and sentenced to 10 years in prison. He was arrested again in August 2008 along with Mar Mar Oo and sentenced to 2 years in prison under sedition charges. He was released in May 2011 and continues to work in Burma's democracy movement in Rangoon.
Jolly Tun, a member of the ABSDF was arrested in 1988 and sentenced to 53 years imprisonment. He is still detained in Thayet prison.
