Aung Khaing Min, former student activist was arrested in August 1997 for his role leading the student protests in 1996. He was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment and spent more than 5 years in Insein and Taungoo prisons. He fled Burma and resettled and now works for the AAPP on the Thai-Burma border.
Chit Ko Lin, brother of Aung Khaing Min and husband of jailed 88 Generation Student Thet Thet Aung, was arrested in October 2007 and sentenced to 7 years in prison for his involvement in leading peaceful protests during the Saffron Revolution. He spent 4 years in jail until being released under amnesty in October 2011.
