Nay Tin Myint, secretary of Burma's National League for Democracy Liberated Areas (USA) spent more than 15 years in Burma's notorious prisons for his political activities. The former student leader and a founding member of the 88 Generation Students group was finally forced to flee Burma in 2007 when teh military tried to arrest him once more. He now lives in exile in New York where he continues in the struggle to bring democracy to Burma
