Aung Myo 'Jimmy' was arrested in 1990 during the mass democracy uprisings and was jailed for 5 years for his role in student demonstrations. He was arrested again in 1999 during protests marking the anniversary of the 8888 movement. He fled Burma in 2000 and now lives in Norway.
U Sanda Wara, a monk from Rangoon, was arrested during the Saffron Revolution in 2007 and sentenced to 6 years in prison. He is currently detained in Insein prison.
