AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL { 15 images } Created 25 Nov 2010

The long term project for Burma's political prisoners "Even Though I'm Free I Am Not' was incorporated into a global campaign by Amnesty International UK in 2010 to raise awareness about the situation of Burma's political prisoners.

Members of Parliament and celebrities were photographed with the name of a Burmese political prisoner written on their hand, standing in solidarity with more than 2,000 currently detained in Burma's notorious prisons.

The Amnesty campaign had support from over 8,000 members of the public who joined in by submitting their own photographs which were presented to the EU to demand action against the ruling military regime.
