Kam Lian, a prominent ethnic Chin leader with close ties to Aung San Suu Kyi and Secretary General of the Zomi National Congress was arrested in Moulmein in March 2001 for his active involvement in the formation of the CRPP. He still live sin Rangoon where he continues to work for democracy and ethnic reconciliation in Burma.
Kam Lam Khup, an ethnic Chin democracy activist, was arrested in October 2007 for his involvement in the Saffron Revolution protests. He was sentenced to 33 years and is currently detained in Myaungmya prison.
