Than Than Sint, a former member of the NLD, was arrested in December 2005 when she was caught returning from the Thai-Burma border having met with so0called outlawed organisations. She was sentenced to 12 years in prison but was released under amnesty in 2009. She fled Burma and is now a refugee in Umpiem Mai camp on the Thai-Burma border.
Yin Kyi, a labour activist and cellmate of Than Than Sint in Insein prison, was arrested in 2005 and sentenced to 8 years imprisonment. She was released under general amnesty in October 2011.
