Thin Min Soe, a labour and human rights activist, was arrested in February 2006 for collecting documents and written statements demanding Labour rights and instructions to form a Teachers' Union. She spent over 3 years in Insein prison before fleeing Burma in 2009 and she currently lives in Umpiem Mai refugee camp on the Thai-Burma border.
Khine Mar Soe is a fellow labour activist and was arrested in July 2006. She was sentenced to 10 years in jail and is currently detained in Pathein prison.
