Soe Htike, a member of the All Burma Students Democratic Movement during the 1988 uprising was arrested in June 1991 and sentenced to 10 years in prison. In 2005 he joined the 88 Generation Students and participated in peaceful protests during the Saffron Revolution. He was forced to flee Burma in 2009 with his wife, also a former political prisoner, and young family when military intelligence raided their home looking to arrest them again.
Than Tin, a member of the 88 Generation Students, was arrested in September 2007 for his role in peaceful protests during the Saffron Revolution. He is currently detained in Sittwe prison.
