Nyi Nyi Aung, leading Burmese activist and now a citizen of USA, was arrested in September 2009 when he visited Burma and was charged with attempting to plot internal unrest. He was eventually charged with fraud and forgery and was sentenced to 3 years in prison. With limited International intervention he was jailed in Insein prison befor efinally being released in March 2010 having spent 6 months in jail. His mother Daw San San Tin, and cousins Thet Thet Aung and Noe Noe are all currently imprisoned in Burma.
